Big in Berlin

quarks Big in Berlin

Gabriel wrote me yesterday and commented that I hadn’t name-dropped him in The Entroporium yet. You asked for it, buddy…

To celebrate today’s dropping of Gabriel’s name, I’m putting up a track from one of the albums he gave me via our CD Club. If memory serves, Gabriel was in Berlin, went into a local record shop and asked, “What’s the hot music around these parts?” (Or at least that’s what my friend Gabriel told me.) This was what they gave him — nice burbling electronics and melodic primitivism. Fans of Krautrock, glitch and earlier Bjork will dig this. Think along the lines of Barbara Morgenstern or SchneiderTM.

If this is the “hot music” around Berlin, that city’s only got stranger since I was last there in 1990.

Wow. Where to begin. I’d like to thank Shawn, of course, for dropping my name. He’s been a real rock for me in the past and if it weren’t for him I’d still be pretty much in the dark about this whole Tivo thing. I’d like to give a shout out to my brother Mark. Sorry, Holmes! It can’t always be about you! Last but not least, I’d like to thank all of you who took the time to read this and see my name and everything. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it. God Bless!
